Welcome Guest
We've recently received a few emails from members looking for some confidence boosting tips when it comes to style and dress. Chantelle has tackled each and listed her answers below which you may find quite interesting:
Colour is a very personal thing, different warm and cool colour palettes suit different individuals but we will each have our favourite colours that make us feel instantly more comfortable and confident in. However in this instance, strong contrasting colours worn together, for example black and navy worn with bright reds or purples show that you’re an assertive person. You could also incorporate wearing dark tones with very light tones, almost like a uniform to show you have air of authority above the other team.
To inspire confidence you should always wear fabrics that complement the situation you’re in. In this instance fabrics will need to work with your body rather than against it by not restricting your performance in any way. However, if you’re in a corporate environment then a crisp cotton shirt worn with a high quality wool suit says you mean business and gives you instant ‘power’ within yourself. It’s always a good idea to think carefully about the occasion and dress appropriately for it, for example even if you are not the most confident person you should look to dress in a similar and acceptable style to the group of people you are meeting – keeping under the radar and on par with everyone else.
By breaking things down into bite size chunks always helps us overcome confidence issues more easily and by focusing on the parts of your body that you feel most confident about rather than your appearance, as a whole is a great start. For example if you have a noticeably smaller waist in comparison to the rest of your body then highlight it by wearing belts or clothing which fits neatly around this area. By understanding what clothing styles suit your body shape is the secret to boosting your confidence.
