Fashion Blog of the week – July Stars
JaJa started the blog "July Stars" in 2008. She says “ I wanted to connect with people who share my views and fashion vision. The original idea was to justify my opinions on style in writing and see if I could hold the reader’s attention effectively”.

Her key themes are always fashion designers, fashion stories, (magazines), or fashion photography, with the occasional reference to her own experience.
She has nurtured her blog for over a year and uses it as a platform to close the division between writing and fashion.
She says, “ I’m hoping to find my own convincing prose style and individual voice while focusing on subjects I love. In my notes I only cover people and topics I’m interested in and carefully select what I like from an inexhaustible fashion repertoire. I think it is important to stay honest and loyal to my individual taste rather than wrestle with perhaps more popular ideas in a hugely competitive blogosphere. I was craving a stage to discuss and articulate fashion ideas while remaining authentic and true to my passion.”
She aimed to write about fashion in a different kind of language, and we think she has managed to do just that. The challenge was to engage with her audience and share her personal fashion perspectives through texts.
She says, “ It is hard to navigate the fashion world using words more than imagery to convey an idea but I think that I might achieve this one day. This concept is also the distinguishing feature of my blog and what makes it so different from other fashion websites. It’s not necessarily a strategy that has worked in my favour and proved effective in terms of increasing readership numbers but I’ve gained a loyal following of wonderful people and fashion professionals who enjoy reading and fashion as much as I do.”
JaJa was a finalist in the Dazed & Confused fashion digital award competition, which was also a huge professional achievement. She was also featured on the Sportmax Code W.O.W. website, and Dolce & Gabbana's online magazine SWIDE.
