Welcome Guest
We’re all guilty of the odd impulse buy, the guilt after which is sometimes unbearable as we realise there’s no way we’d ever wear it (what WERE we thinking about!).
The secret is apparently to LOOK BUT DONT TOUCH. Simple eh... let me explain further. Apparently touching an item makes us want to buy it and can even persuade us to pay over the odds. The feel of a potential buy makes people imagine that they already own it and encourages them to picture it in their wardrobe according to research.
‘For most products, the touch experience is positive or neutral so merely touching a product usually increases how much a person is willing to pay for an object’ says Joann Peck & Suzanne Shu.
‘We also found that when touch is unavailable, such as shopping online, having people imagine owning a product increases their perception of ownership and how much they are willing to pay’.
So there you go... you’ve been warned ;->.
