Layering is key throughout the colder months ahead so try wearing a long sleeve cotton t-shirt underneath your gorgeous girlie floral dress for warmth. Simply team it with a pair of buckled up leather boots for a smart/casual look and accessorise with a wide waist belt to define your waistline.

If you can’t bear to pack away your summer maxi dress and provided you didn’t spend a fortune on it then why not consider shortening the hem to maximise its wear in autumn with a pair of skyscraper ankle boots. Team with an oversized boyfriend cardigan, accessorise with a narrow waist belt worn on top and a mixture of chunky embellished cuff.

Create a stylish outfit for work by wearing a fitted white or black shirt underneath your colourful strapless prom dress. Tone everything else down by completing the look with black opaque tights and black patent platform courts. Accessorise the outfit with a neutral glass pearl ribbon necklace worn on top of the shirt.

Team your bold print embellished kaftan with skinny jeans for an effortless evening look. Simply layer a long sleeve t-shirt or wide strap vest top underneath and accessorise with a couple of long chained necklaces, killer zipped shoe boots and a colorful envelope clutch bag.

If you bought lots of pastel and nude coloured garments last season then why not brighten up your wardrobe by experimenting with dyes. Look to transform an old dress or nude blouse by dying them in one of this seasons gorgeous berry or teal colours. A quick go in the washing machine with a box of Dylon dye or a bottle of Jacquard acid dye will give those items a new lease of life!

We loved relaxing in those t-shirt dresses with gladiator sandals throughout summer but the lengths on them are just a little too short to wear now on their own. Get your scissors at the ready and carefully cut off a few inches off the bottom to create the perfect shaped t-shirt that you can wear with tailored trousers for work or effortlessly with jeans.
