How to ‘style yourself confident’ on a first date

Got a first date and don’t know what to wear or how to wear it? Here are some essential tips to help you prepare.

First things first, it is really important to plan ahead for a first date and make sure that you have enough time to get ready.

If you’re meeting up with your date after work it is important to set your alarm early before work, making sure you have enough time to shower and wash your hair!

Select a number of outfits the night before a date and try everything on. You should not be rushing or choosing something out of your wardrobe last minute only to discover that your favourite dress has a stain on it or the hem is hanging down on your skirt. If you have a friend or member of family around why not ask them to have a look at your in your outfit. Choose someone who will give you an honest opinion, not just what you want to hear.

Don't wear too much makeup and don’t choose anything too revealing to wear. Stay with clothes you feel comfortable in – this will automatically give you confidence, which will show in your body language. Wear your best underwear – even though your date won’t see it. Matching/sexy underwear is an instant confidence booster.

Use a little and light spray of your favourite perfume - too much scent can be a turn off.

Go easy on the jewellery, less is more. You want to look classy and stylish and not like you are wearing half of the local jewellers!
