If you love fashion and love supporting fresh new British talent then we suggest you go check out Catwalk Genius. Simply select your favourite emerging designer from a long list of Britain’s finest emerging talent and purchase shares in them. Obviously it’s up to you to decide who is the most promising in your eyes. You then buy some shares, the money helping the designer build their brand so as to increase your share value. Great concept.

You can choose from Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith or Mary Quant to name but a few.

Paul Smith was best for making a fast buck and a decent longer term return:

Paul Smith

The return on £10 in 2004 = £11.05
This stake’s value by end of 2007 = £14.49

For all-round great performance, Mary Quant was the smart investment choice

Mary Quant

The return on £10 in 2004 = £14.44
This stake’s value by end of 2007 = £30.22

Here are some of our favourite designers on the site right now:

Camilla Wellton
Camilla’s beautiful, gently curving designs are the result of a sensibility that encompasses a broad variety of unconventional influences.

Philosophy, yoga, mathematics and earth science all contribute to pieces that include organic and ethnic elements (in style and content), a strong bias to natural fibres and a desire to produce pieces that instil a sense of individuality in the wearer.

Georgie W Couture
Fusing old school couture with a 21st century attitude and appeal, Georgette Williams (the designer behind Georgie W Couture) has nailed a signature style that manages to appeal to the traditionalist as well as those seeking something with a bit more bite.

Clever cutting is key to the brand; fabric is cut to flow liquid-like over the body with beautifully draped garments or razor-sharp tailoring in punchy, modern colours.

Ring Leader Urban Jewellery
Describing her creations as "a mix of typography and jewellery that blurs the boundaries between fashion and design", designer Katie Rowland applies her graphic design background to jewellery that promises to both provoke and engage.

Playful and decadent in nature, Ring Leader Urban Jewellery pulls in influences from opposite ends of the cultural spectrum, from aristocracy to ASBO-laden hoodies.
