What’s the difference between a Personal Stylist and An Image Consultant?
There’s been much debate as to the difference between Image Consultants and Personal Stylists recently, so I am going to try and shed some light on the matter for you.

Personal Stylist or Image Consultant?
In short, an image consultant and personal stylist are really not too dissimilar... they are both in essence stylists/consultants (whatever you want to call them) whose job it is to make you look and feel better about yourself.
The term Image Consultant is perceived by some to be an old fashioned term for a Personal Stylist, which is far trendier to talk about today!
Many who call themselves ‘Image Consultants’ consist of a slightly older generation of consultant who have a desire to make a business out of working with ladies of a similar age, analysing colours and working from style theory rather than integrating more creativity to their tasks. They also act as ‘consultants’ (as the name suggests) and work closely with businesses and the corporate market place, whilst Personal Stylists tend to work more with individuals.
However, a ‘Personal Stylist’ is someone who tends to concentrate more on your style and high fashions that work for individuals. On average they tend to be a lot younger than image consultants and appeal more to younger audiences... they can often be heard talking about ‘Personal Branding’ and other similar buzz words.
So... let’s put this to bed shall we... simply put Image Consultants tend to be more corporate whilst Personal Stylists tend to be more individual led. But there are very few differences between the two.
